We all desire clear smooth, hydrated and youthful skin, just as nature intended. Here at Adam and Eve Skincare, we have dedicated our efforts to solve the mystery of why some products, both chemical and natural exacerbate existing skin problems.
We asked ourselves? “What is the missing ingredient?” Or, as it turned out – the extra ingredients, that are causing inflammation, irritation and dryness?
And this is what we found. A list of some not surprising ingredients…
- Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
- Sodium Laureth Sulpahte
- Fatty Acids and Derivatives
- Alcohols, Esters, Ethers and Sugars
- Lanolins and Derivatives
And some surprising natural ingredients…
- Cocoa and Coconut Butters
- Coconut, Cotton Seed and Soybean Oils
- Algae Extracts
- Specific Emulsifiers and Derivatives
We got to know our customer first and we asked them a few questions.
What do you want?
- Natural ingredients
- Sebum controlling
What have you found on the market so far?
- “The cheaper products are aggressive and strip the skin causing irritation, pore congestion and inflammation.”
- “The higher-end products are over stimulating with aggravating ingredients, causing congestion and inflammation.”
We asked ourselves? “what can we do to help?”
- Research all ingredients and their properties
- Note down the findings
- Formulate avoiding all pore-clogging ingredients
- Include all natural, gentle, hydrating ingredients
- Try on our customers
- If any products fail the trials
- Research again
- Reformulate again
- Trial again
- Only commit to market when we have happy customers
And that is exactly what we did…
“Nature does nothing in vain” (Aristotle)
An exciting thought that we can positively affect our skin the largest organ in the body, both by what we put on it and what we eat and all thoughtfully provided by Mother Nature herself. The Garden of Eden really had the answer to clear skin.
As a qualified Aromatherapist I was dismayed not to be able to find any skincare ranges that cleansed and nourished using natural, non-pore-clogging (non-comedogenic) ingredients. So I decided to make my own.
I researched both natural and scientifically developed ingredients to establish the culprits. With only natural non-pore-clogging and anti-inflammatory ingredients at the heart of the resulting formulations, I began producing cleansers, lotions and creams at my kitchen stove. These were then tried and tested by a group of adults of varying ages with positive results.
And so to market. I went on to team up with a natural skincare manufacturer based in the south of England to fine tune the products, delivering a breathable, calming and conditioning skincare collection for all. At any age, young or old, our skin is prone to congestion and irritation, not only as a result of hormonal imbalances and food intolerances but because the products we put on our faces are chemically aggressive. A natural approach to skincare and healthy diet influence its behaviour – one cannot be wholly effective without the other. Adam and Eve Skincare believe in providing a complete product and now have a Dr. of Nutrition working as part of their in house team.
I really hope you enjoy using the Adam and Eve skincare range.
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the six young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day. They build specialist units within NHS hospitals bringing young people together to be treated by teenage cancer experts in a place designed just for them. They want every young person with cancer to have access to this specialist support, no matter where they live.
Traditionally treated alongside children or elderly patients at the end of their lives, young people can feel extremely isolated during treatment, some never meeting another young person with cancer. Being treated alongside others their own age can make a huge difference to their whole experience.
Teenage Cancer Trust also educates young people and health professionals about cancer to ensure a swift diagnosis and referral to specialist support. Cancer in young people is rare but they want young people to know the common signs and symptoms so they can seek medical advice if they are worried.
Teenage Cancer Trust relies solely on donations to fund their vital work. You can help transform the lives of young people with cancer.
